"An Arctic expedition for those who still know how to be amazed"
DESCRIPCIÓN
There are journeys that cross continents and others that cross the soul. This is one of them.
In Svalbard — where ice becomes horizon, silence becomes landscape, and solitude becomes strength — SOLORUTAS invites you to live a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
You’ll drive your own snowmobile across the most extreme Arctic landscapes, sleep in an isolated cabin surrounded by glaciers, and explore frozen fjords, ice caves, and abandoned mines.
But you’ll also toast with champagne under the northern lights, enjoy Arctic tasting menus paired with wines from the far north, and share the experience with a select group of just 8 fellow explorers.
Because true adventures don’t need crowds — just good company.
And because there are places that only reveal their truth to those who dare to go all the way.
Welcome to the most exclusive journey to the north. Welcome to your next story.

Highlights
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN OSLO
Meet and greet at the airport with the SOLORUTAS coordinator. We head into the city for a first stroll along the harbor and streets facing the fjord. Time to disconnect from the everyday. Welcome dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: OSLO – SAUNA ON THE FJORD
After breakfast, we explore Oslo’s iconic landmarks: Vigeland’s sculpture park, the Opera House, Akershus Fortress… Local lunch.
In the afternoon, a very Nordic experience: a private sauna facing the fjord, with optional polar plunge for the bold. Dinner and rest at the hotel. Tomorrow: the Arctic begins.
Day 3: OSLO → LONGYEARBYEN
Flight to Longyearbyen, the main town of Svalbard with just under 2,300 residents.
We settle into the exclusive Funken Lodge, a boutique hotel with refined Arctic charm.
We’ll visit the world’s northernmost wine cellar, followed by dinner at Funktionærmessen, featuring an Arctic tasting menu paired with exceptional wines.
First chance to catch the Northern Lights.
Day 4: DOG SLEDDING & ICE CAVES
After breakfast, we live a polar dream: driving our own dog sled (two per sled) into Bolterdalen Valley and to the Scott Turner Glacier. Along the way: reindeer, Arctic foxes, maybe even auroras.
After lunch, we hop into a retrac snow vehicle to reach Longyear Glacier, where we gear up with crampons and helmets to explore its surreal ice caves.
At night, gourmet dinner at Huset, a culinary institution blending ancestral Nordic traditions and modern cuisine. Another night under aurora-filled skies.
Day 5: SNOWMOBILE EXPEDITION – ICE TEMPLE
After a hearty breakfast and thermal gear fitting, we begin our multi-day snowmobile expedition across Spitsbergen (one per snowmobile – driving license required).
Today’s goal: Sassenfjorden and Villa Fredheim, the legendary trapper Hilmar Nøis’ base.
We stop at Fjordnibba, with sweeping views of Tempelfjellet and Von Post Glacier.
Tonight, we stay at Juva Cabin, deep in the Arctic wilderness — complete with a cozy wood-fired sauna and dinner around the fire.
Day 6: SNOWMOBILE EXPEDITION – EAST COAST
A full day of snowmobiling across wide plains and glacial landscapes toward the east coast of Spitsbergen, a wilder, colder side where polar bears are more commonly spotted.
We travel 190 km through surreal terrain, likely encountering Svalbard reindeer, ptarmigans, and Arctic foxes.
If lucky, we may safely observe a polar bear in its natural habitat.
Lunch out in nature, in front of glacial cliffs, before returning to Juva Cabin for dinner and rest.
Day 7: EXPEDITION TO VAN MIJENFJORDEN & RETURN
Today, we complete our expedition with a final route toward Van Mijenfjorden, surrounded by dramatic peaks and icy waters.
Depending on conditions, we may see seals resting on the ice or waves crashing on the frozen shore.
We cross valleys and Passfjellbreen Glacier, exploring its deep blue ice.
We return to Longyearbyen, drop off the snowmobiles, and enjoy a warm welcome back at Funken Lodge.
Day 8: MINING HISTORY & FAREWELL GOURMET
After breakfast, we explore Longyearbyen — a modern town with a frontier soul.
Guided visit to the Svalbard Museum and Nordover Art Gallery, the world’s northernmost art museum.
In the afternoon, we don helmets and headlamps to descend into the legendary Mine No. 3, retracing Svalbard’s coal-mining past.
Tonight, a very special farewell: dinner at Willems Cabin, a secluded luxury shelter with Arctic fine dining and perfectly paired wines.
Day 9: LONGYEARBYEN → OSLO
Flight back to Oslo and transfer to the city center. Free afternoon to walk, shop, and return to urban life after the Arctic spell. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: RETURN TO EUROPE
Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Return flight.
