Motorcycle routes for passionate travelers

LADAKH

THE ROOF OF THE SOUL

DESCRIPCIÓN

Ladakh is not a destination. It’s a threshold. A place where the body is tested, and the soul expands.
Here, in the Indian Himalayas, the mountains silently watch you, time dissolves at 5,000 meters, and the roar of a Royal Enfield echoes like a mantra.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Delhi
Welcome by the SOLORUTAS team and transfer to the Holiday Inn Aerocity. Time to rest, hydrate, and recover from jetlag. The adventure begins tomorrow — today, let your body arrive.

Day 2 – Delhi Chandigarh
Morning domestic flight to Chandigarh. Guided city tour through Le Corbusier’s modernist architecture, including the Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat. Chandigarh is unique in India: orderly, functional, and surprisingly calm. Check-in at Hyatt Centric and lunch. Afternoon stroll through Sector 17, the commercial heart of the city. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Chandigarh Manali (by road)
Scenic ascent to Manali through pine forests, waterfalls, and mountain villages. The 270 km route crosses Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Arrival in Manali, nestled at 2,050 m and surrounded by wild nature. Check-in at Manu Allaya Resort. Night among cedars and crisp mountain air.

Day 4 – Manali – Meet your Royal Enfield
First ride on your Royal Enfield. After a safety briefing, we visit the 16th-century Hadimba Temple, nestled in cedar trees, and Naggar Castle, a former royal residence. We’ll stop at the Roerich Gallery, dedicated to the Russian artist and mystic Nicholas Roerich. Traditional lunch and free time to explore the Tibetan market. Second night in Manu Allaya.

Day 5 – Manali Jispa (motorbike)
We cross the Atal Tunnel (highest of its kind in the world) into Lahaul. Ride alongside the Chandra River, through Keylong and Gemur. Boutique accommodation at Gemur Khar. Afternoon spiritual ceremony in a small village temple. Dinner among mountains.

Day 6 – Jispa Kharnak Valley Leh (motorbike + camp)
High altitude stage. Ascend the Baralacha La pass (4,890 m) surrounded by lunar landscapes. Picnic lunch in Kharnak Valley. Ride over Tanglang-La (5,328 m), one of the world’s highest motorable passes. Arrival in Leh (3,500 m), spiritual heart of the Himalayas. Check-in at Ladakh Eco Resort.
💡 Bike switch required by local regulations — new machines for the second leg.

Day 7 – Leh – Culture and Acclimatization
Discover Leh’s highlights: Shanti Stupa overlooking the valley, Tsemo Monastery with panoramic views, and Leh Palace, inspired by the Potala of Lhasa. Free afternoon to explore the Tibetan bazaar. Second night in Leh.

Day 8 – Leh Likir Alchi (motorbike)
Ride west along the Indus Valley. Visit Likir (famous golden statues), Lamayuru (one of the oldest monasteries, on moonlike terrain), and Alchi, with its thousand-year-old Kashmiri frescoes. Stops at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, and Magnetic Hill. Return to Leh.

Day 9 – Leh Nubra Valley (motorbike)
Cross the legendary Khardung-La (5,600 m), the highest motorable pass in the world. Descend to the lush Nubra Valley: desert dunes, hanging monasteries, and Bactrian camels await. Overnight at Stone Hedge Nubra.

Day 10 – Deep Nubra: Ensa, Yarab Tso, and Hunder Fortress
At dawn, join the monks at Diskit Monastery. Continue to Ensa Monastery, perched on a cliff, and to the sacred Yarab Tso lake hidden between peaks. Lunch at Lchang Nang Retreat. Afternoon visit to Hunder Temple and climb to the old fortress for breathtaking valley views.

Day 11 – Nubra Pangong Tso (motorbike)
Follow the Shyok River on a scenic adventure route. Arrive at Pangong Tso, a high-altitude salt lake shared by India and China. Its colors shift with the light — a sight to remember. Stay at Desert Blue Resort on the lakeshore. Evening of silence and wonder.

Day 12 – Pangong Leh (motorbike)
Cross the majestic Chang-La (5,160 m), decorated with prayer flags. Visit Stakna Monastery on a fang-shaped hill, Thiksey (resembling the Potala), and Shey Palace, former royal summer residence. Final night in Leh and farewell dinner.

Day 13 – Leh Delhi – Free Afternoon
Morning flight to Delhi. Transfer to Holiday Inn Aerocity. Free time for shopping or optional temple visits (Akshardham, markets…). Final dinner at Aerocity.
